DESCRIPTION:The Board of Trustees of the Charter Township of Oscoda will hold a public hearing on a proposed increase if 0.2055 mills on the operating tax mileage rate to be levied in 2023. \nThe hearing will be held on Monday\, September 11\, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at 6000 N. Skeel Avenue\, Oscoda\, MI 48750. \nThe date and the location of the meeting to take action on the proposed additional millage will increase operating revenues from as valorem property taxes 4.58% over such revenues generated by levies permitted without holding a hearing. DESCRIPTION:The Michigan PFAS Action Response Team will host a community meeting on the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base/Oscoda Area per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) environmental investigations. Representatives from the Michigan Department of Environment\, Great Lakes\, and Energy (EGLE) and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) will provide presentations and updates. EGLE will provide updates on the status of the Remedial Investigation and two Interim Remedial Actions at the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base\, water quality standards\, and the Oscoda area January monitoring well sampling results.
