DESCRIPTION:My way to Wellness is a new online nutrition program for low-income residents of Michigan offered by MSU Extension. It is self-paced\, so you can take it any time that works for you\, from anywhere! The course has interactive activities and quizzes to aid in learning. SUMMARY:2022 Michigan Bushcraft Spring Gathering
DESCRIPTION:After a two year hiatus\, we’re pleased to announce that we are once again hosting the Michigan Buscraft Spring Gathering! \nJoin us at Lumberman’s Monument Visitors Center in Oscoda on May 6-8 for a chance to meet up with fellow bushcrafters\, campers\, and outdoor enthusiasts. On Saturday\, May 7th\, there will be a full day of presentations by the MI Bushcraft volunteer team. \nThe Gathering and presentations are free to attend at any point during the day. If you’d like to camp\, AuSable River campsites can be reserved at recreation.gov or in-person at Lumberman’s Monument that weekend. Dispersed camping in the national forest is another option\, and there are hotels and amenities in nearby Oscoda. \nPLEASE NOTE: Monument Campground is closed to the public until May 30th and per the USFS only event volunteers will be permitted to stay overnight on the actual grounds during the event. \nMay 7th Event Schedule: \n9am – Compass Basics with Melissa Hardwick\n10am – Axe Theory with Ethan Goss\n11am – Survival psychology with Brooke Whipple\n12pm – Wilderness first aid kits with Al Coutts\n1pm – Shelter tours with The Hammock Crew\n2pm – Knot Krazy Talk with Greg Foltz\n3pm – Leatherwork using household items with Tim parsell\n4pm – Bannock cooking with Brooke Whipple
