Alpena Day Trip

Visit

Alpena

The village of Lincoln began with its settlement in 1885. Lincoln Lake was then used to transport lumber to a nearby train depot for the Detroit and Mackinac Railroad. In 1908 meetings were held to create a community with dock structures, a park, camping, picnics and installing sidewalks and creating a business district. Throughout the years Lincoln has continued to grow into a tight knit community with a thriving local industry, restaurants, banks, schools and year round recreation including cross-county skiing, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.
